The goal is to correct a disharmony in the face and improve its aesthetic balance. If there are internal functional problems (deviation of the nasal septum), they will be corrected at the same time as the surgery.

The operation can be performed as soon as bone growth is complete, starting from the age of seventeen. Laboratory tests are systematically carried out to detect any potential contraindications. The operation lasts an hour and a half and is generally performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia depending on the procedures to be performed.

Post-operative follow-up:

The use of a cast is mandatory for 7 to 8 days. Bruising around the eyes disappears within one to two weeks. After the cast is removed, the traces of the intervention have almost disappeared. This procedure is not painful. You can resume normal activities about two weeks after your procedure.

The results:

It takes several months to appreciate the final result. The surgeon's art will consist of preserving the natural appearance of the nose and restoring facial harmony.

What is a rhinoplasty?

How does the surgical procedure work?

Is there pain after rhinoplasty?

What is the duration of swelling and bruising?

Bruising around the eyes and swelling are common during the first 7 to 10 days. Swelling may persist for several weeks, and the final result is observed between 6 and 12 months.

Does rhinoplasty leave scars?

In closed rhinoplasty, there are no visible scars. In open rhinoplasty, a fine scar is placed on the columella (the base of the nose), which becomes almost invisible over time.

Can respiratory problems be corrected at the same time?

Yes. This is called rhinoseptoplasty, which combines aesthetic correction of the nose with functional treatment (deviation of the nasal septum, hypertrophy of the turbinates, etc.).

Are the results permanent?

Yes, once healing is complete, the result is permanent. However, it may evolve slightly over time and with the natural aging of tissues.

What are the possible risks and complications?

As with any surgery, there are risks (infection, bleeding, asymmetry, irregularities). A touch-up may sometimes be necessary, but it is rare when the surgery is performed well.
